Over the years of being a Wedding DJ in the greater Portland area, I have found that the Venue is the first place to start when planning a wedding. The Venue sets the tone for the whole wedding! Here are a few of the best and favorite Wedding Venues in the Portland area.
Victorian Belle
Located in North Portland this historic venue has held weddings since 1885. The mansion was constructed by David Cole, for his wife Amanda Laura Boone. The elegant 1800's interior is only matched by the beautiful backyard.
The Victorian Belle has numerous amazing locations for ceremony, dinner and reception all on the private property. With enough space to hold around 150 guest comfortable and a wonderful staff to make sure everybody and everything is taken care of. They include a full kitchen staff and Wedding Coordinator for the day of the event with every wedding package they offer. Which is a huge help to the rest of your vendors who are wondering how the day is suppose to go. You can also stay the night in the mansion for an additional fee.
Overall this is one of the most beautiful and accommodating Wedding Venues. The whole property looks as if it was made for an Oregon-born fairytale.
World Forestry Center
This Venue is a part of Portland's Washington Park. The park includes the Oregon Zoo, Portland's Children's Museum, Hoyt Aboretum and of course the World Forestry Center. This is a perfect Venue for those who want to get away from the city without actually leaving. Located in middle of the West Hills its the perfect mix of city sophistication with an adventurous charm.
The World Forestry Center has four great rooms for your reception. The Cheatham Hall is the only dining area with an outdoor plaza. For your ceremony, Washington park has many perfect outdoors areas. Some even with a stunning view of Mount Hood. Unfortunately they do not have on site catering, they do however have a list of great caters in the nearby area.
This Venue encompasses the beauty of being in Portland. You are surrounded by truly remarkable nature all while remaining less then fifteen minutes from downtown. The World Forestry Center is the perfect place for a relaxing, elegant and beautiful wedding.
McMenamins Edgeflied
McMenamins has a large presence all over the greater Portland area. They have a classic concert venue downtown, The Crystal Ballroom. However the also have numerous upscale hotels on large property in the Portland area. My personal favorite is Edgeflied in Troutdale. The venue is less then thirty minutes outside of Portland.
McMenamins Edgefield is a great location for large outdoor ceremonies and indoor receptions. They have a copious amounts of large rooms able to hold upwards of 200 guest. Each room is accompanied by wonderful murals and artwork on the walls. The rooms also have their own courtyard or lawn. With the mountains just a little further east this is the venue for those who really want to get away. Edgefield has in house catering and staff to make sure your wedding goes smoothly. Along with wonderful buildings they have enough overnight rooms for all your guest.
Edgefield is truly an
amazing venue for getting away from the city and entering a joyful village of festivities. If you are looking for a secret world for your big day McMenamins Edgefield will surpass all expectations. They will truly make your night one to remember!
